USAF F-15E Strike Eagles
Quite simply one of the best days
we've spent up at the Mach Loop. On October the 28th we
were blessed with wall to wall sunshine and some
fantastic passes from Lakenheath's finest. We had three
pairs of F-15E Strike Eagles from the 494th and 492nd
fighter squadrons that made an appearance over the space of a
couple of hours. The Bwlch Exit is a great location for
top side shots this time of the year, the light was spot
on. Photographs have now been uploaded to the
Low Level Gallery section. |

Latest Low Level Photos
They've been a long time coming but the USAF A10's
didn't disappoint. On the 15th of August I was fortunate
to have a pair of A10's make three fantastic passes at
Cad West. They have been on my "to do" list for nearly
four years, that was the last time they were seen low
level in Wales. Its not often everything falls into
place, the weather, location and aircraft could not of
been better. Photos can be found
here. |

Royal International Air Tattoo
My first and probably last airshow of the year (where
does the time go?). I headed down to Fairford on the
15th of July to photograph some of the arrivals that
would be taking part in this years show. On the 18th I
decided to venture down to the East side Park and View
to photograph the departures. I decided to give the main
show event a miss this year and concentrated more on the
ground shots rather than the flying displays. I did
however manage to shoot quite a lot of the practice
sessions on the Friday. Click here.
Belgian F16's
A good couple of days in the Mach Loop including a rare
catch. On the 26th of July I spent the day up on Cad
East. I don't often use this location as aircraft
normally bank away from you but sometimes you can get
lucky. We had some superb passes from both the USAF
F-15E's and RAF Typhoons, all in fantastic sunshine.
On the 4th of August it was back up Cad East. I'd heard
that there was a pair of Belgian F16's that were due to
come through the loop late morning. At 12pm both F16's
were seen heading our way coming from Barmouth, they
flew through Cad turning at Corris only to come around
again, this time lower and in a tighter
formation......Superb!!
